It's that time again...

The Sketchbook Project is up and running again! And I am happy to say I have received my sketchbook and already have made some fine "improvements" to it! I will share below in pictures. My theme this year is....ENCYCLOPEDIA OF...which is a pretty open idea. I already have the cover pretty much done and the idea down...I know I want it to look old and used and dusty and ripped...but it will be chock full of sarcastic entries and drawings! My big problem at the moment is what to title it...I don't want to be lame and just call it "Encyclopedia of..." but it needs a cool name. Hmmmm this may be one of the last things I do because it has to be a great name. I think the cover so far came out awesome. I used acrylic paints, book tape, cotton balls and Elmer's glue to get the effect I was after...I wanted it to have a lot of texture and the cotton and glue performed perfectly in that arena. Now the cover looks like something you might find in an old attic. Right up my alley for sure...Below ill post pictures from before to after.

Curiouser and Curiouser...

More pages from my sketchbook...such a fun project!

Sketchbook Project....COMPLETE!

Yay! Im finally posting this finished cover picture of my sketchbook...it was sealed, shipped and finally received by the fine folks at The Sketchbook Project.
Now my work is displayed for all to see at The Brooklyn Art Library! It will also tour the country...pretty exciting...
It had a kind of wonderland vibe...(of course) and I'll be posting more pictures throughout the week...I had such a fun time doing this project and I can't wait to do it again...I suggest everyone order their sketchbooks when the project starts again next year!

It's here! It's here!

Ahhh! I finally got my sketchbook in the mail! (It didn't take long and I'm being a bit dramatic but) IT'S FINALLY HERE! how intimidating a new fresh sketchbook can be. I'm looking forward to starting this cool project and seeing what I come up with. I have until January so we will see...I'm hoping to get a few students to do this with me too.
p.s. my theme is..."it'll be fun i swear" ha ha...look for the sarcasm in my sketches!

My Mug...

Well if you know me, you know I LOOOOOOVE Alice in Wonderland very much...since childhood....So when my husband surprised me with this lovely mug I was like a giddy little kid! I couldn't wait to drink my coffee that morning!

He got the mug at Urban Outfitters (a favorite store for me and many others) and what, you ask, could make this mug any better then it already is? Well, the Cheshire Cat will disappear when the mug is holding a hot beverage!

See! Its pretty cool and a great gift from my favorite guy =)
